Pride and National Indigenous History Month

National Indigenous History Month:

In June, Canadians celebrate National Indigenous History Month to honour the history, heritage and diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada.

National Indigenous History Month is a time for learning about, appreciating and acknowledging the contributions First Nations, Inuit and Métis people have made in shaping Canada.

While celebrations and events for National Indigenous History Month may be different this year than those in the past, we can still share and learn from stories, traditions and culture in new ways that keep us together and connected.

Here at Kang Nai Xin, we will support and advocate for events that contribute towards Indigenous people and history as well as encourage such events.

Pride Month:

Pride continues to be that special moment each year, where the LGBTQ2+ community and allies come together to connect with one another, show the world that we are not afraid to be our authentic selves, and highlight the work that is still required for us to build a safe and inclusive society.

Although Pride may look different this year, in a largely unprecedented move during an extraordinary time, the Human Rights Campaign and more than 100 LGBTQ2+ organizations have united in solidarity to combat racial violence and injustice as Pride Month gets underway.

To bring awareness to Pride Month, Kang Nai Xin encourages people to help and support such events to help Pride communities and Canadians altogether.
